Still, even seeing your haphazard, irregular or unplanned training will help others to get an idea of what has been working or not working for you and could be useful in piecing together our own training.  Jussayin. ;)

And spectacular pull, you're really pulling ahead of the pack.

Working--lots of OAC (full attempts, mainly), lots of DL (mostly heavy singles or doubles, often one top set, experimenting with positions A LOT) and getting some actual rest, food, water, no stress, etc. the past week.

Not working--average of 4 hours of sleep a night plus a usually-interrupted nap, odd mealtimes, high stress, personal issues, etc... and trying to lift at all on top of that.

I'll post up my training when I get back into it, haha.

Last deadlift set of the year... 315x8 stiffleg deadlift, no set-downs during the set, no chalk, no warmup (with anything less than 315, anyway).

Happy 2014 everyone!

Pistol box jump to 27'' with each leg--first PR here since, like 2009 (22'', I think).

Nothing else to note. Starting (kinda) to follow a set routine again.

I guess this should go here:

Other recent PRs:

SLDL 345x1 from a 3.5'' deficit using the squat bar.

Farmer's walk 150lb/hand x20 yards x2 sets (first try on those)

Paused strict stacked kb press 28kg x4R/3L

And not quite so recently, near full range OAC each arm +10lb

Past ~month:

-One arm strict press 70lb/32kg kettlebell right and left
-beltless deadlift 405 (not a true max) +hold for 25 seconds
-Turkish getup 40kg/88lb, 44kg/96lb to standing but not back down
-Got my FMS certification

Bodyweight still around 138-142. Training is more kb stuff for a while and includes more correctives as well.

Kb presses getting stronger. Couple days ago did 32kg for 5 singles each arm followed by 28kg for 10 (much easier) singles each arm.

Also managed a stacked press + get-down + get-up with 32kg (50lb with 20lb on top).

FMS2 coming up in a couple weeks... SFG in February. Gonna get a lot stronger this year, for sure. Might start logging again if I do anything interesting.

Cesar--my kb strength is probably going to keep going up... an obvious benefit of working with them all day!

Kind of... will be doing a gtg-ish thing for a couple weeks and then onto a more defined program--still variable practice but within a definite structure. Based on some eastern bloc benching programs. That's the plan, anyway.

Light getups emphasizing Tspine extension, armbars, and bar hangs are your friend, my friend... those and some light band work will help with almost everything shoulder-related. What's up with the tweak, exactly?

Finished riding the wave. Time to back off and do a legit program to hit some more PRs right around the new year.

Jman's PRs

Post by Cesar on Wed Nov 05, 2014 12:43 pm

Nice going on the weight chin.
Now it looked like on the press, your right arm was a bit wobbly and then you were able to recover.  nice going.

Jman wrote:Funnily enough my right is noticeably stronger; but I focused so much more on my left that it was my right I struggled with... that's happened to me before.

353 and then 373; the bar is 33lb.

Not going to focus on it but will probably add some axle holds to the mix which should pay off with a bigger axle DL without having to do much actual deadlifting with it.

363 actually, though I do posit I could've handled those 2 extra lb and maybe a bit more besides...

Very happy that I can use the HG for anything now. Should help me iron out my upper back imbalances.

Also, it's just kinda awesome.
