juji from tt

Post by Journeyman on Sat Dec 29, 2012 2:25 am

It's 1am and I'm wondering, what happened to the dude from trickstutorials?

He's still alive and well, and still the man other men want to be, apparently, in terms of abilities:

Big beltless pulls and a pretty decent iron cross.
I wonder how close I am to a real iron cross now.

Getting pretty close to elite deadlift. Maybe he should start crossfitting to get to next level.

His buddy antoine just turned ifbb pro, I think, not too long ago. That's pretty cool too.
Quite the eccentric (and hilarious!) pair of crazy, flipping, handspringing gym rats, the two of them.

...Yep, he's a pro BB now. Quite the transformation, it has been like 8 years though.

He can still do some insane flips too, I think I put a vid on the old forum once.

Juji is beastly now as far as appearance. I was wondering the same and then a friend posted the exact video you put above. I noticed that his tricks are a bit slower than what I remember. Maybe the bodybuilding had its effects on his explosiveness.

side note... i love the sequence that he uses for his rage salts

Juji's not a bodybuilder, though he lifts pretty heavy now (and is a lot bigger, too). Antoine is actually a legit ifbb pro, I'm pretty sure.

I think both of them are still plenty explosive, but the added mass definitely does make them move a bit differently... if only because they fall faster once they're airborne.

That was pretty cool seeing a 260 pounder flip. That dude got huge compared to his before picture.

Also, Juji looked super explosive on those deadlifts. He looks like he had more than 545 in him

Maybe he had more in him, maybe he's just one of those 'all speed' guys. I guess I'm like that to an extent, if I can't get it off the floor and over my knees in a flash, I'm not going to make the lift at all.

Also, I can't get over Antoine's progress. That's seriously awesome. Of course, in like 04 or 05 when the trickstutorials site was a big deal and they were making a lot of vids, both of them were what like 18-20? About our age. And Vaillant definitely wasn't small even then. He's a real freak now though.

Haha, you know what I mean. They just move differently momentum wise, obvs gravity doesn't affect them differently or some such.
And with Vaillant's recent video, apparently that's his first practice in several years, which is pretty impressive--he does look a bit less coordinated but not all that much.

I don't know much about 'all speed guys' since I'm not one of them, but I agree that could be a possibility

Also, how much do you think PEDs were part of the equation? I'm not a big fan on calling people out online for steroids use, but at a certain point you have to think theres no way someone who is 260, freakish looking, and lean could not be on something

Oh, Antoine's definitely using. The 'max lean body mass' calcuators floating around are BS for the most part (imo), but it's pretty safe to say that you aren't getting to 260 pounds contest shape, at average-ish height, without juicing. He's like a top 20 bodybuilder or mr olympia contender hopeful or something like that.
That said, if you look at the vids from when he was our age he was already really bulky, and that natural ability plus 8 years of serious training (and his body maturing, etc) is definitely the key to that progression, not the drugs.

Yeah, he looks like he could be an 'all speed' guy. I'm one of those as well. If I get past the sticking point the lift looks really explosive even when it's heavy. If I don't have the strength to overcome the sticking point though I crash and burn.

I watched another vid of Juji doing Sumo DL's. Dude's hilarious. Vaillant is also a freak. A 260lb, weird looking flipping/tricking freak.

Funny thing is I'm pretty good at grinding presses/DLs/squats, but only at the sticking point; if I can't get there fast I'm done but if I can get there fast I can fight it for a surprising amount of time.

I like how a lot of this generation of freak professional BBs still have considerable athletic ability. Stuff like Kai Greene's flexibility, Phil Heath being able to dunk, Johnnie Jackson powerlifting, Vaillant tricking, etc. could go far to helping the public get rid of the whole musclebound stereotype; not just for them but for anyone into fitness at all. Same goes for the popularity of BB.com on the internet and the whole 'dyel' fad thingy. It's retarded if not taken seriously, could definitely help in terms of cultural acceptance... I think.
