TheMasterKey's Deck of Cards Workout

Post by Dave on Sun Jan 06, 2013 5:11 pm

In know Cheesedog did it, I did it, but who else has actually completed it? Presumably everyone from the Live Clean or Die Trying Challenge, right? I finished it yesterday night in 59:21 and I have some DOMS today, not too much but a little.

Anyone else who finished the workout, what were your times? How did you feel afterwards?

I finished it.

Took a long time, maybe 2 hours.

Upper body sore for a few days. Abs still hurt to cough or sneeze.

I don't run and have neglected burpees so I feel it the most in my calves.

I want to thank you for that workout by the way. Gotta be one of the top ten hardest I've EVER done!

I didn't time mine, because I don't have a calender in my workout room. :(

Oddly enough I wasn't really sore at first. But then a day or two later my abs got really sore, and they're still a bit sore after several days.

Is this that jailhouse game where you flip a card and do push ups? You do the number on the card and face cards are 15 count.

Here you go Bill-

Deck of Cards

These are the exercises I'm going to use:
-Burpees
-Pushups
-Pullups
-Kneeling roll outs

Sub out exercises if you need to, but the burpees are mandatory.

Cards break down as follows:
Numbered cards = self explanatory number of reps
Face cards = 10 reps
Aces = 16 reps
Jokers = 20 reps (do burpees for jokers)

Are the roll outs the same as Grasshoppers? Thanks.

Sorry about the dbl'd post but, what's the set scheme. I assume you mean to rotate the exercises listed in order. Is the number of sets the same as the number of cards I.E. 54?

Thanks Dave. That list is helpful. I'll try to remember to use it for reference in the future.

Hey Bill, the KRO's are kneeling roll outs- because we can't do 100 standing roll outs!
Set scheme - shuffle the cards and do whatever the deck tells you to!

I got lucky last night when I started I got a boat load of burpees right off the bat while was fresh. So, my time was pretty good.
TMK- DoC- 44:21
As stated in my log, I had to go to jumping pull-ups after 51 correct ones. I still did as many correct ones that I could but I did mix in the jumping ones (especially at the end). That also helped the time.
