That's the most ridiculous squat video I've ever seen. She's depleted almost all of her energy screaming before she even gets to the concentric portion of the lift. She can't possibly have any intraabdominal pressure left over when it matters most. You can even hear her struggling to squeeze out every last cc of air from her lungs on the way up, and she is almost certainly lifting well below her potential as a result. Who the heck coaches her to do that? Utterly ridiculous.

I'm torn between 'that's pretty cool, good for her!' and 'isn't that like 65# on the bar? That's ridiculous and not in a good way.'

Do not go gentle into that good night,

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

That lady is funny! Believe it or not I know some really old drug addicts (like been getting hi on pretty much everything for 40 years + ). I can't understand it. Maybe the coke preserves them like pickles or they have genes of steel.

She may not be hitting her body weight, but it is probably far more than most of her sedentary peers of the same age could manage so good for her. She's trying.

http://yle.fi/urheilu/esko_on_ruutiukko_-_ikaa_71_vuotta_mutta_rautaa_nousee_yli_200_kiloa/6479919

Here's a link about an 71year old guy from finland, this whole video/text is in finnish, but picture says a thousand word, and o moving picture says it all! the lift is in 3.30 mark about, and it's 202kg. Other parts of the video is just him telling his hobbies, how he coaches youngsters and how he likes it. There's also a record of his greatest lift shown at about 0,33 mark.

Edit: When he's talking about his benchpress at the same lift record scene, he says:"My benchpress went bad, didn't break any records. i will fix that later".

I lived in Rauma when i was a kid, there's this free gym and i went everyday before school. There were a group old guys too every morning, one of them was 72 year old at the time. he did pullups with 25kg weight on his waist and did pullups with great form. He also benched about 150. He looked like in his 50 max. He had great chest, powerful arms, thick legs.

I dont know about his past, but it's clear that he had been exercising all his life, all of them were in good shape but not as good as the supergrandpa. Wish i've had a camera in my phone back then, it was the time when phones were just getting colour screens.

Edit: 150 kg, i always talk on kg's since it's the official measurement in here.

was in the news here in England that a really old guy, about 90 odd, goes to the gym every day, starts his workout with like 2000 sit ups (not good ones) and works out then goes and spreads his old man bro science. was jokes, he was really old and frail but a cool guy. he lifted such lil weights, but weights at that.

In my gym near me, my mum talks to a 90 year old woman in there who was diagnosed with all sorts of joints and bone issues and she said like what some one said above "im not waiting around to die" so she has been going gym for years now and is fit and healthy again. PS her son also trains with her and he is HUUGGGEEE lol
