One year left (unless I go for another two years; I don't know though). AFAIK, no help in getting a job. I COULD perhaps teach in a forein country, but I'm not interested in doing so. I had en English teaching job back in Japan, and was told by the guy who'd hired me that if I ever came back, he'd have a job for me. So if I want, I can always go there... for a while.

And yes, I HAVE worked out! Getting a bit back to the rings, now that my elbow is better. I'm no-where near the level I was, but I still manage two MUs as a time and a tiny ring routine. I used to have a one-leg-tucked back lever, but I haven't tested it out as it puts too much strain on my elbow.

Also practising L-sits, straddle L-sits, tuck planche and the random pullups/chins. Want my one-arm chin hold back![You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Mum doing good! I don't know if it was the eye-opener we handed her or she just "naturally" came to feel better. Anywho, the change is appreciated!

In the interests of keeping this polite (otherwise picture a small, furry woodland creature getting all crusty and belligerant with you!) I would like to say that as someone who has travelled through Canada and the States that that is not true - both have about the same variety of climates, if not the tropical state of Hawaii. And our scenery is really amazing. And we have health care....

But you know what, I honestly don't think many countries can compare with Denmark regarding social safety and health care. If you go broke/without job, government saves your ass. It's practically impossible to not have a place to live. Hospitalisation is free. My dad (who has indeed been one heavy health care consumer) has gotten all his treatment absolutely free.

I have no idea how much money the government has spent on him. A few million DKK? (1USD = 5.7DKK). I feel safe to say he'd been long gone (+20 years?) if we'd been left to pay treatment ourselves.

Taxes are almost 50%, but we get most in return. There's much debate about our system, but it's very, very safe.

Enough of dat! Working on getting to 10 chinups again. Did 7 without too much trouble, so shouldn't take long. Then we're working towards 10 pullups and more MUs and... more strength in general :zaru:

Sorry guys, but I think I'll stay away from the English speaking countries and for now stay in the cold, dark North! I might consider Japan.... but only for a while. Not a permanent place for me.

I'm a big supporter of the 'European system' but the businesses we have here would never let it work (and we have a big political base that wouldn't support it either).

7-10 chins shouldn't take long at all....

Nope, I think I should have it in a week or two. Pullups are muuuch harder, but I did 5 yesterday, and that wasn't too much of a problem either. Lots of lost skills, but I hope to regain them somewhat soon. Don't really know how my handstands are doing. Well, I do... not too good *sigh*

Don't start about the burpees! Haven't done one in... ages!

Rikke - HOLA! You must be in the 99.99 percentile with the amount of pullups you can do. I think there are 2 gals at my gym who can do >3, maybe just 1 of them come to think of it.

5 MUs would be badass and definitely video-worthy.

I'm not sure about percentiles... I only know one 'normal' person girl who can do several pullups but am used to seeing 10+ strict overhand ones from SFGs now, so, yeah.

Form is crappy though. Not completely dead hang and no locked out elbows. Never mind how skinny I was! (Very sick at the time; probably about 110lbs?) Think it was 2010?

My max strength has always been better than my endurance strength (and I like the first better). I prefer working on weighted work (my weighted chin PR is BW + 25kg or so kg, a total of about 90kg?). Not sure.

I'd like to get squatting again... hitting 100kg. Oh and deadlift 150kg would be neat, too!

I wouldn't call that a kip, but she does get help from her legs. Generally, the legs come forward a bit more on later reps just because you need to bear down on your abs more, but she does have a little 'swing' going on there.

And same for me.
You should totally get those numbers... wouldn't be hard, coming back to it!

So, kipping was a bit of a wrong term...

Regarding the numbers, here's hoping. I just want to move so I can finally settle one place and get some serious work done. I find myself lacking focus when I literally live two places! I also want to take up MMA...

But at least I got a job! ... in the town I'm aiming to move to, of course. *sigh*

On a serious note though, my mother is now admitted to a psychiatric hospital after a series of incidents last Friday.

Despite my lack of work on chinups, I did 10 the other night. Not banged out, but 10 done without letting go of the bar; 6 + 4x1. A matter of will, I guess.

10 chins today went a lot easier than I thought they would. Was on the way out of my flat when I thought: "... I gotta try". Don't think I've done as much as a single chin since I last posted about the 10 I did a while ago. Surely haven't done any the past week!

They were easier than last time I tried, that's for sure. I even felt like I could have done 11 or 12.

As I'd decided I'd try, I thought to myself: "... but you'll regret not getting it on video, cos the guys on BWC (sorry, the old name has stuck with me) will be like "video or it didn't happen!"".

I'm uploading now.

I agree, you could have gotten at least two more. You held the last one with leg raise. Smooth and strong. You do need high door frames so that you can stretch legs out. Next time try in L-sit.
