Me on request

Post by Ab1 on Tue Jan 15, 2013 6:18 am

I am a 34 year old male, overweight (96kg/210lbs) and (178cm/5'8 ) short/tall.

I live in Bloemfontein, South Africa, it is a small city not the Africa you see on television but a coule of hours drive in the right direction gets you to some pretty wild places.

I am a financial advisor by day and ride a desk for a living hence the weight issue.

I am the chairman of the local fly fishing club and fish as often as I can. I play bad golf on occasion and every now and then I help out an action cricket team if they need a player.

I am in the process of restoring an old guitar and plan to learn to ply it when the build is done(month or so).

I love cooking, drink too much beer and am rather social.

That is really all of it, no more no less.

That's a good intro!

Being a desk jockey by day and beer drinker at night will "weigh" on you :face:
Looking forward to seeing your progress!

crap! I guess I am overweight too...welcome. get to work man.
I would say clean up diet, lower beer intake and be social with others while training.
My profession is all about sitting on my rear end all day in front of a computer and talking to people. But I try to move around during the day, walk to and from work. Train in the morning.
You can always take breaks during your deskjokey days by taking a couple of minutes to do something quick - movement snack. take ten minutes to do something, you'll get an energy kick and will increase productivity.

Just dropped to do 10 hindu push ups while writing an intake report...simple, effective, back is more relaxed and got a nice stretch.

Try it out...

It helps even to just stand up and put your arms overhead. Make sure you do that every 20 minutes. That alone will make a world of difference. And of course it will make you want to do more.

True. I was thinking more of stretching. Hindu squats awaken the mind and lungs better, overhead and prisoner squats awaken and stretch the muscles better.
