D@m these girls are starting to show up a lot of people. Like the bench press girl, she benched like a crab but she still pressed the weight regardless.

Lotta girls in every weight class do the 'high bridge press' thing. Not nearly as many guys do it... but it's pretty darn useful, it can cut out like 2/3 of the range of motion. Of course, it'll make your back and ass tired for deadlifts, especially after squats, if you're actually in a competition.

All right, we have to work on your punctuation.

D@mn girl means "d@mn that girl" and suggests that you are annoyed/angry/dismissive.

D@mn, girl! means you are impressed as all get out with the girl.

(This message brought to you by your friendly neighborhood pain in the neck writer and grammar freak)

And yes, she is amazing!

Hey, how do you know my attitude with the OP wasn't this: :beardy: hmm?
'D@mn girl. Coming after my deadlift.'

Because seeing the accomplishments of a teen-age girl as a threat to your own accomplishments suggests a massive inferiority complex.

And you are way too manly for that.

I mean, I only stopped being a teenager last month, so....

To be serious, I did consider making the title, 'darn, girl!' but just couldn't be bothered at the time.

...And this is why you can't get cocky with a 500# deadlift.

I loved her setup ritual. Never seen anything like that before, especially the "I'm screwing my feet into the ground" motion! She's a real powerhouse.

It looks like she's trying to set up to avoid slipping, it could just be what she does, though. I like how she doesn't hang around standing over the bar, I tend to have to do that for a while if I'm psyching up.

Yeah I don't know why, but so do I. I don't usually just dip, grip and rip, although I'm sure I could if I forced myself.

If nothing else, grip & rip just looks cool. And, I really think that standing over the bar wastes energy... but if klokov does it at least I'm in good company. I should probably try to optimize my setup as well as my actual lifting technique, in the weeks to come.
