Counted my calorie need with an online (seemingly trustworthy) calculator.. what does it seem like?

Based on that my daily calorie need would be 3700. I'm about 185 cm ~ about 6 feet tall and just checked my weight, 90 kg ~ 180lbs... Seems huge amount of calories.

You're more 6'1" and 200 lbs.

It's not that much really... I'm 170 lbs and eat at least 4000 calories a day.

Hhhmmh, okay then! :O Have to start calculating them, trying to get my eating in order. Have been too lazy to keep track. I have a gained a bit weight in 3 months now, it seems to be muscle since i've lost that little excess flab on my waist that i had a while ago.

Just divide the calories you're going to eat by the amount of meals. For example it's really easy for me to keep track of 5 meals of 1000 calories. Write the calorie content of the food you have available down and you'll remember it. Most things are in my head, so it's easy to get the right amount of calories in.

Once you feel comfortable doing this, try to optimize your macronutrients.

It is a huge amount of cals, and you probably don't need that much. I weigh around 5 kilos more than you @ 182cm and maintain my weight at around 2-2.5k a day while training 4-5 times per week. Not sure what you're doing to need an extra 50% over that.

BTW 90 kgs = closer to 200 lbs. (198)

Remember, it's about the calories that your body is actually going to use, not the ones you're going to eat. And you sure as s*** don't need to eat more than 3 meals per day. Before protein supplement manufacturers sold people on this idea, the strongest and best built guys in the world ate 3 meals a day and had both large muscles and chiseled abs.

If you get your macronutrients in order, you will gain/lose/maintain/whatever you want to do.
