Explain your username

Post by squatty on Fri Mar 29, 2013 7:04 am

There are some usernames that seem to have an story worth to listen behind them.
For example I would like to know the story behind "Brahma Bill" to begin the thread

I'm full of bull, big as a bull and training to be "strong like bull" plus it has a nice ring to it.
On BWC I just used my initials and last name, when we moved over here I thought I'd have some fun with it.

I used to mountain bike, and I once cycled with some guys who mentioned on of their friends was a true "cycoist", a play on words for cyclist, meaning that he would do practically anything, no matter how dangerous. This guy once (allegedly) banged up so good that his seat flew off and the seat post went through his thigh. :affraid: :suspect:

Anyway, despite that I was never all that crazy on my bike, I thought of myself as a cycoist for a while, hence the name. I actually thought of changing it when I started this forum, but I figured everyone already knew me as cyco, so what the heck.

Man I want to buy a helmet camera just to show some of you guys how crazy it gets riding my bike in the city. Between streetcars, taxis, and juggernaut trucks it gets pretty insane.

I got my name because that's what they used to call me when I used to labour, cause my name's Dom. I was hired to replace a tractor. The three fifty is just a weight I always respected and desired to deadlift in the form of a rock.

I was restoring a 1958 VW beetle. It took 3 years. When I finally cranked the engine, I said "It's alive!" from the Frankenstien movie.
Itlives came from that-

MF!= MetaFlex
Meta = beyond + Flex = "to show off" (hip hop terminology)/placing isometric tension in the muscle of choice

also:
- a play on Metal Fingers/Face (MF Doom, in my picture).
- Mucho Fuerza ("much force" in spanish)
- Madd Flava
- Mother F***er (from all the people that love to give me attention lol)

Not much to mine, really. I have huge dreams of flying, whether it be in a plane, hang glider or (my new "omg watch this on youtube" obsession) base jumping in a wing suit, I just feel like I was made to take to the air, to the sky, and master it!

I used to want to be an army ranger back in high school. I also really love archery but never get the chance to do it.

Just love squatting, and also always used an squatting toilet since birth.
Also squat down and sit in ATG position whenever I'm tired of standing and wish to sit down and rest. be it outdoors, or in a bus/train.

Now before someone start a "Explain your avatar" thread:
I dig war gas masks. and gas mask wearing squads. to me it is the sign of ultimate military badassry.

So you need to squat with a gas mask on. And photo it for your new avatar. Perfection!

Awesome idea Dave!
In future a gas mask will be given to me, for wearing it in lab. I have seen the ones which elder students wear. they look a lot like war masks, but still a real war gas mask is something totally different.
I can make a replica though. shouldn't be that difficult.

I like the Wizard of Oz, and Glinda is an awesome character in the book series (the originals by Baum). And I always go for girly names.

I use the name Madman in the British meaning, not in the sense that I'm angry, but stricken with fictional madness.

'Fictional' because I'm not really 'mad' in any sense.

I'm the president of jellybeans!

Seriously, I'm thinking of having a custom shirt made that says "I'm normal"
So when folks stare at me on the street I'll just say "Stop looking at it! my shirt is normal!" :lol!:
