strength training in the morning?

Post by Guest on Tue Apr 23, 2013 12:42 am

Thanks for all your efforts to help me in my training log. I appreciate it.

I noticed that I have a lot of energy in the morning but I tend to be tired in the afternoon. If this is the case then would it be okay to do strength training in the morning? Do any of you out there do this? Has it effected your muscle or strength gains negatively? It would be nice to know.

I heard from someone that running hard in the morning can burn muscle instead of fat. I don't know if this is true but I think it has something to do with glycogen levels being low in the morning or something.

1. Is it okay--yes. I wouldn't squat or deadlift to a max before you've been awake for a few hours, but that's not what you're doing.

2. I have. No it didn't.

3. Nope. Morning fasted cardio (generally kept to a low intensity just due to lack of energy when in a 'fasted' morning state) is a very popular tool among top bodybuilders.
