Mine. Few of many to come.

Needs flicks of colour. I got this because i love all the old ankors people use to get, in britain back in the day everyone basically got anchors and i wanted to represent that piece of history with a pin up girl coz... well pin up girls are hot, especially roxannes here^^^

Life project! wont be done for a long time. Symbolize my religion and so God can protect me when i need to be protected. Can argue this is against religion but to me this is a sacrafice to God.

Cherry blossom tree still to come. Books to symobilze the stories of the generations in my family, instead of "nan" or "dad" or whatever i wrote first names so i can tell people a story on who they are. Cherry blossom tree represents (in japanese) how short life can be and we should enjoy it while it is blossoming, so who better to enjoy the fact life is short other than your own family.

My Girlfriends

Love in japanese, Gara has this on his forehead in naruto.

No guys, it has nothing to do with a bad tat choice. It was a black and red ying yang on my left shoulder. It has undergone some attempts at removal, due to a temporary bout of extremism, and for the sake of closure, perhaps one day I'll finish the job.

How are you having it removed? laser? Is it expensive?
I was 24 when I got mine done, now at 50 a lot of the colors have faded and it looks like scratch. Been toying with the idea of having it removed

Sandpaper and alcohol. And a bunch of rags. I've only done two sessions, it will probably take two more when (if) ever I get up the nerve to work on it again.

If I got a tattoo it would be a full back tattoo, I'd have to commission an artist to draw it (probably Alex Gray), and get it done by the best tattoo artist possible so it would last a long long time... so it's very unlikely to ever happen since that would run a cost more than most cars.

I don't have any desire for a smaller, less epic tattoo, if I get one it's all or nothing.

Re: Tattoos and Ink!

I was thinking about putting some ink, or scar art on my skin, but after accidentally getting my arm cut deep by glass, I thought this scar on my arm can act like a dogtag, I'm a citizen who obeys law and respects it, but I don't like the idea of being recognizable by an scar or ink.
So I forcefully keep myself away from ink or any other body art, which is able to make me "unique" and thus super easy to identify.

But If I wanted some ink, I would only go for deep blue, or jet black, no fancy colors, because we age, and rainbow color tattoos will look funny on an old person :loopy:

I wanted a tattoo when I was younger - just because I thought they were awesome...

My parents, however, are very much against tattoos, and as the good girl I am, I never got one. They used to threaten us (my siblings and I), saying that if we ever got tattoos or piercings (ears apparently don't count...), they'd deny us inheritance.

Now I don't want a tattoo... well, only if I found something I just HAD to have poked into my body. And it would have to be done by the Japanese yakuza - by hand, with a huge stick with needles. Looks brutal!
... or maybe a Tibetan monk or something.

I want two jap sleeves. Or one jap one Greek mythology. The yakuza used to get tattoos to represent how long they had been in the yakuza. So they old guys would be covered. To hide this from police they started the fashion of high collars to hide their necks. And that's why they wear suits with high colours. To avoid police recognition.

One would think that not advertising "hey, I'm a criminal" would be a good idea, if one wanted a long and successful career in crime.

On and off I've thought about tattoos. In Kingston, I lived in a neighborhood within easy few blocks of about 4 tattoo parlours and saw a lot of really good examples. There's some really beautiful work out out there and some of the images on this thread are beautiful and unique.
However, right now, if I got a tattoo, it would be a "ghost" one - i.e. one done with white ink. They are very subtle and lovely.

The problem is the same as it ever was - what image/symbol do I like enough to live a long time with?

My first one- I got it when I was 42. Represents my style of martial arts. The band is from an 18th century page border in a Chinese book.

Always wanted a dragon. Mine is fire. The wife's is water (I'll put hers up when I get a pic). Needs some color freshening...

Tip of the day- never get a tattoo where the judge can see it!

Another one of the reasons why I decided to remove it.

I've got a similar story :D When i was 19, just moved to my own place, to another town. I've always wanted tattoos, so i decided that hey! Since i'm getting my whole arm tattooed, i might as well start with the back of my palm (what's that are called in english.. not my palm, the other side), and it's different from what everyone else does! Now there's a skull with chains coming thruogh the temple of it's head, going up my wrist and ending to the backside of the wrist.

I also have couple chinese symbols on my wrist, and i'm thinking about getting a cobra, that starts from my wrist, goes up the arm, going inside the skin a couple times and ending at my shoulder. Haven't found anyone why would draw it though, and i don't have a job atm so would be too costly for the tattoo artist to draw it.

I'm waiting for the prices to **** removal, and i'm going to do it :D There's one removal laser on one tattoo parlor, the science behind is increasing so tattoos aren't permanent anymore.
