Weightlifting geek looking for a nice change

Post by R2E on Mon Jun 03, 2013 2:45 pm

Hello,
I've been a gym geek for 22 years, and have been having a hard time finding motivation for the gym the last several months. Don't see the point of heaving heavy weights, trying to gain a lot of muscle all the time, etc. I mean, I have no interest in becoming a bodybuilder and stepping on stage in a skimpy speedo.

So I've been lurking around the other site, Bodyweight Culture, for a few months. I enjoy the bodyweight exercises and their progressions.
My new goals are to become more proficient with my own bodyweight, to be more functional in everyday situations, etc.

I look forward to reading the tips and suggestions here, just like I have enjoyed Bodyweight Culture (which seems to have been taken over by spam and ridiculous sounding threads about Hello Kitty and Louis V. purses).

Thank you for your insight and help in advance, and good luck in your training goals.
Randy

Welcome mate.
I've only joined here a few weeks ago and let me be the first to say they're the most insightful, welcoming and friendly bunch you'll come across. I'm a bit of a body weight enthusiast myself (enthusiast? Or just too cheap to fork out for a gym membership XD) so i'll definitely check out your log when it's up.
