Spinning Hook Kick

Post by dospooks on Mon Jul 08, 2013 2:29 pm

Hi Dave and Mike, and anyone else who might happen to be interested. I finally made a spinning hook kick video and uploaded it to youtube. This is the caption for the video:

"I recently went to the 35th anniversary reunion of my Tae Kwon Do club in the Bronx. While there, I saw some new equipment, including Tiger Claw rebreakable boards. I didn't get to try them at that time, but they looked fun and challenging, so I got the black "extra-strong" model (equivalent to 2-3 standard pine boards?). This video was made with the rebreakable board literally fresh out of the packaging, first time trying it. I strung it from the railing of the upstairs landing, and filmed it from two angles at once."

I hope you like it, and thanks for the encouragement.

Very nice Daniel!  ;)

Wouldn't want to be hit with that!  By the way you realize of course that next you're going to have to play the piano for us, right?

Thanks guys. Sorry Dave, no piano. I can probably play "my dog has fleas" on the comb and tissue paper harmonica though.

Daniel - awesome work! Fluid...makes me want to get back into TKD. Haven 't practiced in over ten years. But I hear it is like riding a bike.

Just stay flexible (or flexible-ish like me) and you'll be able to do everything you used to do before. And with your added strength and power, you'll probably do it better than before. All my kicks now look better than ever before, thanks to the changes to my training in recent years.

Flexibility is key. As I am getting older I am learning that mobilit is king. There has to be a balance
Between strength and flexibility. Daniel has it!
