Amit's remaining 2012 logs !!

Yea, so the idiot me kept wondering where everyone was. I kept looking for folks on FB. Came on this forums, but had not registered, and untill you register, the forum only showed like 5-6 posts all around, and I kept thinking no one was here !! Today I finally signup and big relief, folks are here !

First of all, big thanks to Dave, ranger, inca and all you folks for putting this forums up in such a short time. Really thankful for that.

Now I can keep posting my workouts here :bounce:

I may have been having illusions from all the insulation and sheetrock dust i was snorting, but i could have sworn I read someplace our very own Amit did a century ride........at a blistering 12mph avg speed?!?!?!!? :)

Thanks guys ! I was really starting to wonder where everyone had disappeared ! And I have mentioned this before and do it again. Thanks to Dave, inca and folks for putting these forums together so quickly.

Last Sunday. A very foggy day. Sweat shirt was pretty much wet from the fog in first 45 min. or so of riding ! Was feeling awsome up until mile 50-55 or so. And then bam the left knee started bothering out of no where ! Had to take it easy for rest of the ride. But other than that, it was beautiful riding in those foggy mountains. definitely doing more of these. Absolute blast !! O, and I did have a failed attempt on Saturday ! Rode 70 miles, but then ran out of time and called it quits. So it was 170 miles in 2 days. The most I have ever ridden in 2 days !

And for todays workout -

Treadmill Run - 5 miles - 40 min. avg. pace - 8 min. mile

Rest a few min.

25 lb DB Flys - 5 x 10

Deadlifts - (the run really took it out of me !)
135 lbs - 10
185 lbs - 10, 8,8,8

10 lb DB front raise - 10
10 lb DB Lateral Raise - 10
5 Sets

Chinup hold at top and mid position for 5 deep breaths
10 pushups
5 Sets

You're going quite a bit heavier than I remember on the deadlifts aren't you? Have you gone for a 1 rep max recently? From the numbers you posted above I'd say you're good for at least 250 for a single.

That's some serious bike mileage Amit, I'm impressed! My knee started hurting me out of the blue about halfway thru the bike on my **** Ironman, so I had to back way off, but still had to keep going!

No, never tested my 1 rep max. Would be interesting to try. Gonna give it a shot sometime next week.

An iron man is waaay out of my league. After I got off that bike that day, I cannot even imagine running a freaking marathon ! Although it does mean a lot coming from you. Very much appreciated !

Today Morning - 49 Miles - 3 hours 8 min. - Around 15 mph avg. Pretty much flat. Caught a nice tail wind coming back. Yet another foggy, misty wet morning. Not sure if that is a bad thing though. Because if cloud cover goes away, it means temperatures plummet ! I would rather have it foggy, misty, wetty rather than COLD :mad:

11 Dec. 2012 Tues.
AM - 25 mile bicycle ride

Might do something in the evening. Not too sure.

Today mornings ride was tough one ! I was sore all over. Legs - MEGA-sore. On top of that 41 degrees outside and raining. Still took off ! Glad I did. Definitely worth it. Roads were wet and slippery so was a bit slower at times.

I haven't done Brian Kests power yoga in a while. We got a couple of Rodney Yee's hour long sessions. They are pretty good, too!

Aiight, so finally back from Christmas. Had been in Michigan with family visit and all. Came back 10 lbs heavier :toothy: Now have to work it off. Feel like total crap. Mountains of sweets where brought down to nothing-ness in a matter of 4 days !

AM - Road Ride - 68 miles, rolling hills with a few minor climbs. Total elevation must be around 2800-3000 ft. Took around 6 hours or so with breaks and all.

30 degrees outside ! Water bottle was full of icicles in about 30 miles :twisted: :twisted: Entire ride was done on a medium coffee, an energy bar and half a bottle of gatorade. I was about 1 mile away from home, and I bonked !! Completely de-energized with body pretty much shutting down on me ! That half bottle of gatorade was the only way I rode that last mile !!

I know the feeling. I probably gained 10 pounds too. :facepalm:

I'm back on the straight and narrow now though.

That workout probably burned off some of those evil calories!

Umm...I am/we will be back on the S&N come 1/1/13, but after our 1/2 marathon today we had the BEST mushroom burger..then bought the BEST BEST BIG BOX of 6 different types of fudge...I'm freebasing and freight lining(?) and beer bonging and injecting and everything else with and to that fudge right now. :D

Before the race I was +6.2lbs in about a little over a week, back up to almost 190...yes William, sugar is deadly.

Great job Amit, cowboying up in the frigid weather - your Man Card is in no jeopardy of being taken away! ;)

Swiss Ball Pike Rolls - 8
Thread the needle - 7
4 Sets

All of it done on a banana and a cup of soy-milk ! Felt lack of calories as soon as I started at the gymn ! Christmas calories should be put to some good use :mrgreen:
