and Mike I understand what you wanted to say ;)

today I didn't have enough time to do the complete 500 swings  :|
so I did
300 swings with 10kg KB in 12 min
and
50 bearhug walking lunges with 12kg sandbag in 4min
after that climbing the stairs was a little hard ;)

on Friday I'll have a 16kg KB to train with
don't know but lately during the 500 swings I just get bored / unmotivated -.-
I think I'll try something else like AMRAP in 10min or AMRAP(without break)

so today I did:
- 230 swings with 10kg KB in 13min
- walked about 1min with the sandbag(12kg) ,with extended arms, straight above my head
I tried some KB snatches..Till will be back home tomorrow so he'll be able to show me how to do it correctly

I don't think you'll have time to get bored moving up so much in weight. Just be sure to go easy at first. Make sure you can handle it without too much struggle.
(500 anything could get boring)

Changing up the protocol is always a good idea. Not only does doing the same thing get boring, but using different protocols for getting the reps in is good because it pushes your body in slightly different ways even on the same exercises.

Hey Leo, I'm getting my first kettle bell today. A 40 lb'r I think at 16kb yours is 35 lb.s or close to it. That's going to be a challenge!
I've been using dumb bells but found this one on Craigslist for a good price so I go get it today after a meeting.
See ya! Have a good day!

thanks :)
extra weight felt...heavy ;D it's more exhausting (naturally) but I'm looking forward to the time when it will feel easy again :)
so yesterday I've worked on my kb snatches...and I'll have to practise doing them so the kb won't 'slam' against my wrist every time..

today:
AMRAP bearhug squats (12kg): 35reps
130reps fast skipping

Yeah everyone has that problem at first... there are a couple different ways to fix it, though. Could you get a video of them?

I've just started doing snatches myself. I've found that if I grab the KB handle slightly off center it slows easier when I squeeze the handle at the top. Don't know if that's proper form or not but it's working for me.
The bruise on my left wrist has finally healed. :D

good to know I'm not the only one and thanks for the tip :)

-OA swings with 16kg KB: left | right
1) 7 | 5

re: KB slamming against wrist.
If you go to youtube, search strength garden by Jason C. Brown or just goggle strength garden by...for his site and blog. He has multiple video re: KB movements including snatches and tips to help you minimize slamming on wrists. The issue per JCB is that you are allowing the bell to swing around your wrist (passive) instead of punching through the movement and you moving your hand around the bell (active). He does a better job at explaining. check it out and hope this helps.

^^^ Pistol grip snatches a la steve cotter/oleh ilika are probably the most user friendly way to do them.

Hardstyle snatches with a 'punch through' can still bang up your forearms and almost always tear your hands on the downswing when done for high volume. Traditional GS swing snatches take a while to learn, for most people.

Using the GS hook grip when doing high volume snatches is probably a good idea as well. Confers greater usable grip strength than a normal grip, too.
