Ugh, dude I just tried ring dips for the first time today and they are awful. I'm just not used to the (minor) skill of the ring support and a controlled eccentric... the press part is fairly easy though keeping a set groove is kinda hard.
They seem easier on my shoulders but just as hard on my sternum as normal bar dips, personally.

You could probably get more than 50 in ~5.00 if you did a single every 5 seconds or so. Less carryover to a long set but a good way to jack your numbers up, clockworking it out like that.

I found it great for back hypertrophy too.
