glute ham raises/russian leans

is it possible to get strength for that without equipment? I mean just to begin at least, I am not sure where to start
articles advise either bands and proper equip in the gym, I dont go to gym now

my glutes and hams are a lot weaker than quads

well thanks, havent thought about that .. too bad I have nothing like that at college dorm, I can try weekends only, hope it wont be too low frequency

Probably won't be able to do it without hand or upper body assistance. At least initially. In fact, it took me a couple of years before I found out I could do a natural GHR without any upper body assistance. Did a few this summer just for kicks/wanted to show off and see if I could do it. Anyway, just a friendly reminder that you won't be freakin' amazing at these right from the start. It takes time. Natural GHRs are extremely challenging, but the payoff is pretty good too.
