Yesterday I did
2x200 yard
1x50 yard
1x150 yard
sprints

1x200 yard live load shoulder carry approx. 55 lbs

lots of isometric pulls at the playground

All of this was done while playing with the grandkid who was in the mood to race. Since there were so many sprints I figured I'd count it.

10:1 Rows and pushups - body at a 45 degree angle - suspension trainer
Came home late, but the weather was actually decent so I set up the suspension trainer and ran through this as soon as I got the truck unloaded. Didn't even go inside and change, I knew if I did it would be all over :D

Hey Bill, just catching up on your log.

You've got some great conditioning going on, but not surprised with the level of consistency you maintain!

Nice work after a day's roofing, I reckon most of my achievements would have been on the couch after that :face:

5 rounds 24kg KB
15 swings L/R
10 Cleans L/R

Broke out the Heart rate monitor and used it instead of the clock. I would hit 160 at the end or the superset and then start again when I got back down to 120 (about a minute to a minute and a half). Thought about adding goblet squats but I spent a lot of time crawling today so my Knees said "NO!" :D

I did the boxer neck exercises on a playground ball instead of using my arms for resistance. I could tell the difference, I only held each for a 10 count instead of the usual 15. Last left hand set on the COC was broken 5/5. Used the Heart rate monitor during the KB circuit.

Great work Bill.

Want to get i to good old hammer strikes.
problem : no hammer or tire to strike said hammer.
solution: build myself a tornado ball from my homemade medicine ball.

Post by Brahma Bill on Sat May 02, 2015 9:48 pm

Been working my behind off. Lots of late nights. Business is booming. Which is a good thing but leaves me with no energy for training.
Had the kid over today. Got out the suspension trainer which he thought was awesome. He said "I'll do this and you go get your black things (kettle bells)" So while he did a ton of flips, swinging, pull ups and hanging upside down, I did a bunch of swings, snatches, cleans, presses and halos. used both the 16 and 24 kg. Hadn't snatched with the 24 in a while, it felt good. I also ran a couple of 200 yard, Man vs Kid on bike. foot races.
We think we've got the schedule straightened out, so training will occur again here this week.

Thanks Fellas.
Got home from work yesterday. Put on my shorts and sneakers, headed out to train, ran through my stretching and joint circles. I finish up by laying on my back so I can do the fancy lumbar stretches. I'm looking up at the birds flying around, the weather is perfect and then....I fell asleep for about twenty minutes right there in the driveway.

WU

Sledgehammer strikes 12 lb hammer - 8 Tabata rounds
Med ball slams - 20 lb med ball - 8 Tabata rounds

Got gassed and real sweaty (90 F, 32 C today). Med ball slams had my Hammies crying afterward, never felt those there before.

Facing Facts

Post by Brahma Bill on Sun May 24, 2015 9:04 pm

No training to report today. But I am getting my head right. I’m posting this because I need you folks to stay on me until I build some momentum.

Here’s where I’m at-
Training - I've been inconsistent since November. We had some family issues that really threw me, but I’m past it.
Work – our business is booming (finally!). We’ve had some growing pains but we’ve got new systems in place so everything is scheduled and organized well enough that I’m getting home early enough to train.
Weight – Holding at 289 lbs. – 30% BF (based on the Navy method).
Diet – spent all winter eating whatever the hell I wanted – I cleaned all that up a couple of weeks ago. No weight loss yet but my joints feel a lot better.
Injury – Pulled the tendons behind my right knee a couple of weeks ago – healing nicely.

The plan – our brother Rastaman pointed me in the direction of Convict Conditioning a few weeks back. I’m going to run Good Behavior at level one on Mon –Weds- Friday and continue with Viking Warrior Conditioning on Tuesdays and Thursdays with additional Gut-Grip and Neck work. This will have me doing a little something every day without driving myself into the ground.
After I reach the 80 sets goal on VWC (and drop a few lbs.) I’m going back to running for a bit.

Thanks for the support and encouragement

WU

3x
Wall pushups 26,27,25
Knee tucks 15,18,15

Did some extra mobility work on my right knee during warm ups.
These were harder than I anticipated. The wrists seemed to be the limiting factor on the wall pushups.
Thought I was going to blow through the knee tucks, the one second hold at the top kept that from happening.

A method that might help with the wrists on wall pushups is to do them as fingertip pushups. And if that is a bit much for your fingers at first, you might try taking a tennis ball (or in your case a basketball :P ) in each hand as you do them, to reduce some of the strain. Until you build up to it.

Had trouble posting yesterday so we'll see how this goes

Weds - Rows 27,13,14
No squats due to knee

Thursday - no snatches - overheated and head cold - out like a light by 8:00

Today - short bridges 3x50 1 Mississippi hold at top.

Scale says I'm down 8 lbs this morning. Yee Ha!

All righty then

Wall pushups - 40,37,31
Knee tucks - 25,28,16

On the one hand, this seems too easy, like I'm not doing enough. On the other hand, as beat down as I've been feeling lately, if I had a "hard" session scheduled I'd talk myself right out of it.

Did a lot of walk, biking and running around with the Kid this weekend.
