Greek youghurt vs curd..?

Post by Guitar_maniac on Mon Dec 08, 2014 6:02 pm

I have heard from lot of people that greek youghurt is great, and healthy, low in fat etc, so i bought it. At home i started comparing the nutrition values with the curd that i eat a lot:

First up is the curd, second is the youghurt:

Protein 12g 6g
Carbohydrates 4g 4,2g (sugar is the same amount)
Fat 0,3g 2g (saturated 0,2g and 1,3g)

Everything of course is xx/100g

It seems to me that the curd is the winner here? or am i missing something? the curd is sold at 500g packs, so there's a lot of protein :D I usually mix it up with berries and eat after gym/martial arts.

I don't buy yogurt unless it has lots of fat or is incredibly on sale.

I make and drink a quart of kefir a day (1/2 in the AM the rest at night). You make it with full fat milk. The purists out there only make it with organic whole milk. Lack of protien is not an american problem (generally speaking).
I've read it has around 10X the probiotics of yogurt. Since I've been drinking it, I have had no stomach problems whatsoever. I've been making it for a couple of years now and can give any help if someone wants to get into it. With the state of our food supply these days (can you say or spell GMO's and GE's ?) our digestive system needs all the help it can get!
Here's a link to it if you've never heard of it. THe first link is who I got it from, the second a page all about kefir.
