Will the springs lose tension over time if I let them remain mounted after training?

Not that I've noticed/heard/seen. They're not under much tension at all, and the metal is pretty high quality. I would slide them down to the bottom just to be on the safe side, though; can't hurt....

Does the said metal quality also apply to CFF pitbull super-vise?

BTW JMan, my father easily mashed the gripper at these settings:
first string at the first notch
second string at the last notch

Is he a candidate to someday close it at the hardest setting?

Not sure, but they're similar enough that I don't think there'll be an issue either way.

That is good, very good, but probably not. He'd have to get nearly 100% stronger, which is a lot even with very hard, specific training. If he's relatively young, has very big hands and wrists (and no problems) and trained very hard and consistently... maybe.

He's in his 50s, but pretty healthy and looks younger than his age.
He had no training other than manual labor.
Sometimes he nearly crush my bones during hand-shaking without even noticing/trying.
