Dominik, nice to beard you!

Post by Dave on Wed Apr 15, 2015 9:21 pm

The look on my face is from the realization that my hair is uber messy and gross after my workout.  Or it's my don't mess with me face.  You decide.

I like yours better, I think. I haven't done much on jeff's beard board yet, so there are probably things I could be doing to get it neater.

That''s a scary look.

I am debating the beard route!!!

Dominik - the mustache, man, it is awesome! If and when you choose to shave, keep the stache and post it!

That's cool Dave and a good idea to open our own beard corner.

My beard made some strange things as well yesterday (arrows). Me, sitting in the archives, my blue shirt looks like artificially pasted on me.

I wanted to grow a full beard for quite some time and have only tried a few times, gave up too early though.

This year I committed to it however, which means 3 - 4 months of growing with only minimal trimming to see what my potential is.

I'm now at week 18 already and am going for the full blown full beard only with some light surface trimming every now and then.

I did some very light trims in week 10 and 11 to even things out a litte and a surface trim after week 16 - mostly around the neck and jaw.

Since then I only maintained the neckline and cleared off a few strays here and there - neck chin and stache tips mostly.

For now I let it grow untouched until week 20. I'm in a competitive grow until the 1st July, so I just try to let go, reaching my half yeard in mid June.

Here is fine. I will post pictures on FB to show you and Dave. I am hoping to keep from shaving and allowing it to grow. I am shotting for at least 100 days of growth and as long as I reach that, I am way over the hump.

Interview went well. Thanks for asking.
There were 3 other candidates and the person who had the position before and was bumped off was offered the position.
I have had 2 meetings post interview; one with my direct supervisor and one with the director of my discipline (social work.) both said that I made a great impression and that they have plans for me. I am being recommended for a management training at the office of mental health that I can add to my resume and more responsibility including supervision of other staff. Also I was recommended to take as many upcoming promotional and open competitive tests to move up. They
Both commended me on my motivation and both said that they know I will be moving up and want to see me move up!

Disappointed and at the same time still happy as I got the interview experience. This was my first panel interview and also the impression I made

Re: Dominik, nice to beard you!

Post by Avocadoshake on Thu Jun 18, 2015 5:58 pm

Guys, I just passed my half year being bearded. I do still work out, but most of the time, I hope I can survive the day.
Swimming 2 km and biking 2-3 hrs/ week have changed my program. I shovelglove and try to get a full body workout in 1-2 times/ week. If not it's body squat, pull ups and pushup pyramid training.

I think I have to survive this first year with baby and energetic toddler and then things may be a bit back to normal.

Anyway, I'm away the weekend, geocaching and commuting with my roadbike, so I just might get my heavy exercise in on Sunday. Next week is one of the final ones of the school my oldest daughter goes to, so there's a play, dance session and other things to attend to. Isabelle is quite busy and on the road, so I'm fighting my daily fight against the annoying chores, lol.

Transferring my journal to electronic text is a dull task I skipped lately, alas.

Anyway, dust bunny at 6 months.
