Dave's 2017 "Training" Log

Post by Dave on Sat Dec 31, 2016 9:57 pm

Because it's never really training anymore.  It's more like.... continual spurts of quality exercise and conditioning.  Is that true?  That's true and it's about as honest as I can be about it.  What matters to me is to keep and improve my quality of movement.  I weigh 180 pounds, and will be fasting every year at Lent, so whatever my natural bodyweight is (probably around this), so it shall remain.

Tonight's New Year's Eve Challenge was 1 hour AMRAP pushups/horizontal rows/table makers (because straight bridges felt a little easy).

I got 22 rounds (to be updated at 9:30 EST, in sync with Cesar and Bill).

It was fun guys!

Happy New Year!

One hour snatch challenge, 16 kg. Turned into half an hour as I decided to preserve the skin on my hands for activities that earn me a living. 10/10 x 26 total rounds, for 520 reps of snatches in half an hour.

I did 10 hindu pushups a few days ago. And some L-sit pullups a few days before that. Got down to 174 in bodyweight, and still able to lift the trap bar at 315 with no warm up or perceived exertion. I know because I tried one rep two days ago. Good enough for me.

That is my "training" post, probably for the next two and a half months, as March 1st marks the beginning of Lent.

May be cycling 30 km every day for a work commute to a physical job.  If so, I'll be drinking lots of water with chia seeds for a few weeks!

Tested DL and pullups. All normal.
